![]() I call this getting the MINERS EYE FOR THE SURVIVAL GUY. Are there certain biomes that dont have ore I just need to know what im looking for when it comes to the gravel/ore veins, but so far it all looks the same, which is just stone. Ive spent the last 3 hours mining and not found a thing. It's soo dark, it can easily be mistaken for rock at poor lighting conditions, but once you get used to how it looks you'll spot it better. So i saw a few posts on this, but does anyone have a screen shot of what im looking for when it comes to gravel. Most of the time you will find iron in that gravel, it is uncommon to find something else, BE PERSISTENT and dig every gravel spot even if next to iron gravel cause ores can often mix close together.Ĭoal is the hardest ore to see too. If you find coal in that gravel you dig- you know there has to be coal down below somewhere so follow that gravel trail! I accidentally discovered this one while trying to build an area to cook in, seeing as the second you pick up raw meat the entire map heads towards the smell. I find that a forest and desert mine is all I need these days, and no matter the biome IRON WILL be the dominate ore lol.Īs I stated in another thread on this the other day- you need to mine gravel spots on the surface to prospect what kind of ore is hidden below. Think Ive picked up a total of 8 Iron ore an 4 coal from all of them. Whatever product you get, that is the vein that is down below. When you dig those up, you will get either raw iron, coal, nitrate, lead, or maybe oil shale (not sure about the oil shale). ![]() You'd hit the rocks to see what kind of patch was underneath, then you needed to hunt for the patch itself. ago Back when you had to find rock patches with gravel underneath. Unlike now where it's only oil shale HelpStuckAtWork 1 yr. There was about 15000-20000 coal I extracted from that one deposit, and I don't consider what I found to even be a huge deposit cause I've found far more impressive ones in the past.Įach biome will feature more of their special ore, but you really can find everything you need in any biome except for oil. ago When you see boulders at ground level, there will be patches of sand around them. Was worse back in the day when each biome had different ores. 4.1 Gravel War 4.2 WAR 4.3 US Senate investigation 4.4 Mann Co. That same deposit tied into a potassium iron AND lead. In my last long play of 17.1, I found a massive coal deposit in the ground in forest. ![]()
